What it is
The Mirror Panther video is a five-second vertical portrait trick. You stand at a round mirror in a dark bathroom, one palm flat on the glass, and your reflection is a glossy black panther with amber eyes and one paw pressed to your hand. Warm gold vanity light, black marble and a little steam do the rest.
In Spanish the format is searched as pantera negra en el espejo or pantera negra espejo IA; in English it appears as mirror panther AI, dark mirror reflection AI and the black panther mirror trend. The setup is simple enough to copy with a bathroom mirror and a phone, which is why it moved from CapCut photo templates into AI video generators within days.
The audience is concentrated in Spanish-speaking TikTok. Third-party tracking on November 1, 2026 put a single tutorial account (@fflora77) at roughly 411,000 plays, and one trend site estimated about 5 million views for the format. English results were still thin at the start of November, which is why this page targets both names.
How to play it
Start with a photo where your face and one hand are visible. A calm expression beats a smile; the scene is quiet and a little eerie. A dark top helps the gold light and amber eyes stand out against the black marble.
Choose the classic black panther first. A Catrina or Day of the Dead version appeared at the end of the season, but the black panther is the version that travels year-round and the one this template renders. Do not upload a costume photo unless you want that specific look.
Post it with a Spanish or English caption. The tone is confident, not cute. A line such as “Si tú eres la que resuelve, ¿a qué le tienes miedo?” or “the reflection knows” works better than a description of the effect.
Three steps to make it
1. Upload one photo
A clear selfie or half-body shot with your face and one hand visible. JPG, PNG and WebP up to 10 MB are supported.
2. Generate the mirror panther
Pick Mirror Panther and tap Generate. It costs 10 credits and renders a five-second 9:16 clip with the bathroom, panther and palm-to-paw contact.
3. Add a caption and post
Download the MP4, add a Spanish or English caption, and post it. The template adds no text or logos.
Example
A typical version uses a mirror selfie in a black top. The clip holds on the palm against the glass, the panther breathes and leans closer, and the caption is one line about being the person who handles everything. The restraint is the joke.
Creators also pair it with a Day of the Dead Catrina look at the end of the season, or post it as a two-shot carousel with a normal mirror selfie first. Because the clip is only five seconds, it loops cleanly and reads fast on a phone.
