What it is
The coffee making AI video is a one-shot kitchen skit: two people try to make a single cup of coffee and fail at every step without breaking character. One dumps ground coffee on the counter, the other pours water into an empty mug, and both stare at the puddle with serious faces. There is no punchline line — the silence is the joke.
The same clip travels under several names: the Cofi trend, zero synergy, and “when two legends try to make coffee.” That spread of aliases is a good sign for the format. People search for the vibe, not a single title, which is why pet versions, couple versions and coworker versions all fit the same template.
The original clip appeared in late October 2026, then moved through CapCut templates and AI generators within days. The AI version keeps both faces and outfits from your photos while it rebuilds the kitchen, mug, kettle and puddle around them.
How to play it
Upload two separate photos whenever possible — person plus person, person plus pet, or two pets. If you only have a group shot, crop each subject into its own file so both identities stay sharp.
Keep both expressions flat. The joke depends on nobody reacting, so a neutral portrait beats a big smile. Even lighting and a simple background make the kitchen replacement more convincing.
Do not over-edit. The clip is designed as one continuous take at counter height. Add a trending sound, write a caption like “two legends, zero synergy,” and let the repeated failure play out.
Three steps to make it
1. Upload two photos
Photo 1 is the person or pet on the left, Photo 2 is the one on the right. Each must be a valid JPG, PNG or WebP under 10 MB.
2. Generate the coffee fail
Choose Coffee Making AI Video and tap Generate. It costs 10 credits and renders a 15-second 9:16 kitchen scene with both identities.
3. Add a sound and post
Download the MP4, pick the trend sound in TikTok, Reels or Shorts, and keep the caption short. The generated clip is silent.
Example
A couple version casts both partners in a shared apartment kitchen. One spills the grounds, the other misses the mug, and the caption is “we are both fully qualified adults.” The clip lands because the room looks normal and the failure is completely calm.
The pet version is the other big format: one dog and one human, or two dogs, both staring at the coffee puddle. Because the animals never react, the clip reads as a deadpan sketch rather than a cute pet video.
